Typical clients include individuals on parole, homeless persons, victims of domestic abuse and people suffering from: alcohol/drugs problems, mental health, and mental retardation.
The successful applicant will take a leadership role on a given shift. They will be the contact person for the facility and take the lead to ensure completion of Program Assistant responsibilities in the facility on their shift. In addition, they will supervise second and third shift weekday staff including training and performance appraisals.
The position of Shift Supervisor shall report to the Assistant Director and/or Program Coordinator. They will be part of the management team of the facility. The responsibilities are custodial in function, with the coordination of: on-going security of the facility; accountability for the client population; supervision and support of all clients in their daily routine and chore assignments; orientation of new clients; file all necessary paperwork and documentation in compliance with Volunteers of America Delaware Valley procedures and funding source requirements.
Employee in this position must have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED; a minimum of 6 months experience as a VOA employee is preferred or two years of human services experience and previous supervisory experience; must possess valid driver's license and be able to meet VOA driver standards; effective written and verbal communication skills; and basic computer experience is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
